“Following flooding at our home, our five dogs had to be rescued by the fire service and immediately housed safely. Andrea & Gareth stepped into the breach, exhibiting a can-do, flexible approach. They were able to take in our dogs (who had never previously been kennelled) and give us the peace of mind that the dogs were safe, warm and well cared for. This was of enormous benefit to us as we were facing so many other challenges after being flooded out of our home. The situation developed day by day and ultimately turned into a 3 week stay for the dogs before we were able to secure rented accommodation and move them all back in with us. The team at Alconbury Hill lavished our dogs with exercise, treats and lots of attention. Through-out the stay, Gareth & Andrea handled our situation with empathy, kindness and professionalism welcoming us whenever we could pop in to visit or walk our dogs. We wholeheartedly recommend Alconbury Hill kennels, Gareth, Andrea and their team.”

Understanding
“We have been taking our two dogs, TJ and Marley to these kennels now for around two and a half years. Gareth and Andrea have always been understanding how upsetting it can be to have to leave your animals but in my opinion they treat all their animal guests as their own and also become very attached to them. When we are away they always keep me informed by email that they are fine to make it easier to leave then. My dogs have always had the same kennel each time they go, which again helps the dogs to settle easier as they are already familiar with their surroundings. I would not hesitate to recommend these kennels.”

“We have been boarding Poppy, our 5 year old Westie with Alconbury Hill since she was a puppy. Alconbury Hill is the only kennels we have used and why would we want to look elsewhere when we feel so assured that Poppy is in good hands? We never have any worries leaving Poppy, in fact she leaps out of the car and pulls us down the driveway to lead us to Gareth and Andrea. Poppy's enthusiasm to visit is testament to the care she receives during her stay and shows that she has a positive attitude to being boarded, which of course makes saying goodbye so much easier for us! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alconbury Hill and rate them as a "5 star" service.”

Doesn't Get Homesick
“When I bring my dog Blue to Alconbury Hill Kennels he’s so excited to be there and loves it so much that he drags me in. He walks off with Andrea or Gareth without a second look at me and when I collect him he’s almost torn between pleasure at seeing me and wanting to be with them. They obviously play with him and give him the attention he craves so that he doesn’t feel homesick. I would, and do, recommend the kennels to all my friends”.

Lovingly Cared For
“That dreaded morning comes when we have to drop our 2 beloved Labradors off at the kennels because we are selfishly going away on holiday. We arrive at Alconbury Hill Kennels and Cattery and with tears rolling down our cheeks the dogs are running around in circles, tails wagging, excitement in their eyes as they know there are going to holiday with Andrea and Gareth! They know they will get well fed and watered, walked and played with, given love and attention, see other dogs and begrudgingly (by the dogs) brushed daily! No ask is too much for Gareth and Andrea, they will continue current training, ensure diets are maintained and even sing happy birthday to them! We have started using Alconbury Hill Kennels and Cattery last year and are pleased we have, as our dogs love going and are lovingly cared for, which for us is peace of mind - well recommended 5 star from us!”
